The Glory of the Cross

Jun 29, 2025    Alex Mark

In this passage we are invited to stand in awe at the trembling soul of Jesus as He approaches the cross—not merely as a man facing death, but as the spotless Lamb bearing the full weight of divine wrath for the sins of His people. Here John helps us see the glory of the cross in the radiant love of Christ who would rather be forsaken than leave us in our sin. We see Jesus’ unwavering resolve to glorify the Father, even in agony, and we are lovingly pressed to ask ourselves: do we desire God's glory in our own suffering? The cross, lifted high, draws all peoples to Him—will we walk in the light of that love?
