Behind a Frowning Providence

If you remember where we spent the last month, we were looking at that phrase from the beginning to the end of Scripture. And we really wanted to understand that when Jesus says “I am” He’s owning the title of God in the flesh. 

That wasn’t lost on any of His hearers- chapter 8 ends by telling us that “they picked up stones to throw at Him.” And it is just after Jesus escapes the fury of a crowd that wants to stone Him for blasphemy that He comes upon the man in our passage.
